About The Show:

Backyard Spaceship Productions is proud to present their play "An Informative Guide on How to Climb the Corporate Ladder." A uniquely Albertan comedy that celebrates office life and explores the compromises we make between pursuing our passions and paying the bills.

Meet Phillip Freedman: A man who has just entered the work world and suddenly finds himself thrust into the corporate jungle downtown. Amidst the high rise corporate offices, Phillip acts as the audience’s tour guide up the corporate ladder. Along the way he is faced with the difficulties of balancing his workload, an office romance, and ultimately finding his purpose in life.

An Informative Guide on How to Climb the Corporate Ladder was a labour of love for playwright Gavin Williams who wrote it shortly after moving to Calgary in 2005. In 2007 the play premiered and went on to win both the Calgary Region One Act Festival as well as the Alberta One Act Festival. After a popular July performance at Loose Moose, this show now makes its way to the 2010 Edmonton Fringe Festival in August.
